Human Design - A 'user manual' for your life!
Believe it or don't believe it, the Jovian Human Design story still remains as intriguing as the day it was downloaded during a mystical experience in the 80's.
Oooh, I love a mystical experience story.....
Let's dive in and discover why so many swear by the accuracy of Alan Robert Krakower's (pseudonym Ra Uru Hu) Human Design System when looking to discover your true self and live a life in alignment with your soul's purpose.
When Actively Seeking Solutions the Answers Will Find You!
At the beginning of my healing journey, I was literally consuming any information I could get my hands on that could shed a little light on my human experience and anything that would help me understand who I was, why I was here, and how the 'bloody hell did I mess up so much?'.
Big questions...
And I found that discovering my energy type (which is a Manifester) through this method, combined with info from other personality and psychology tests really helped me in numerous ways.
The Human Design system came into my life via a new friend that had run retreats for troubled youth for many years. She used to use the Jovian Human Design System to aid her in understanding how each child processed the world around them, and what kind of personality they were, which helped her to communicate in the most effective way.
She asked me to add my name and birth data into the free 'Discover Your Design' on the Jovian Human Design site to calculate my chart. It's really easy to fill out and quite similar to astrological or numerology charts.
You will be asked for your name, day, month, and year of birth, time, and place.

Your Chart Will Look Something Like This
(Although yours will have different configurations because mine is calculated with my personal details that differ from yours)
The Human Design Personality Typing System begins with your HumanDesign Chart (also called a BodyGraph), essentially your "genetic design." Your chart shows you what your gifts are and how to make decisions in the most aligned way possible.
So what exactly is the Human Design System?
Human Design not only describes who we are but also how we affect each other, how we process our world, our soul contract with the universe, and built-in potential weaknesses that could scrapple your success without even knowing.
It offers profound insights into your psychology, along with strategies and techniques for making correct decisions and ultimately leading to a life of more ease and fulfillment.
It's not built on belief or faith but is a logical, empirical system that offers you the opportunity to experiment with its mechanics and find out if it works for you.
Similar to astrology for example, when your birthday, time, and place determine your personality and some general characteristics from your specific cosmic timestamp. The alignment, and positioning of planets and stars within your astrological birth chart.
Human Design is more evolutionary by way of combining ancient and modern sciences such as Astrology, I’Ching, Chakra system, The Tree of Life of Kabbalah, and on the other hand Genetics (Molecular Biology), Astronomy, and Quantum Physics.
Also, an interesting addition is the second point of time that is calculated to create your chart or BodyGraph. This is 88 degrees of the Sun before your birth, about 88 or 89 days before your actual birth date. This is the date that Alan Krakower (Ra) believed that Neutrinos pass through the fetus and imprint our personality.
Neutrinos are a constant stream of unusual particles that carry a nanoscopic amount of mass from the sun, from other planets and stars, through the universe. As the stream passes through us it leaves information. It is a stream of information, and within each of us exist particles that connect us to the stream. This imprint is reflected within your Human Design Chart, and determines your particular Design.
Personally speaking, I only discovered much of this information whilst researching the content and facts for this article. I originally only read my energy type and found that to be spookily accurate. At the time it answered a lot of questions I didn't even realize I was asking and was sufficient for my growth at that time.
Now that I have re-connected with the depth of this system I look more deeply into the configuration of my chart (BodyGraph) for fun and self-exploration. Some of the core theories in the Human Design System contradict my personal beliefs of soul and incarnation etc.
Still...it remains enlightening all the same.
You will need to draw your own conclusions and take from it what serves you most.
Imagine being given a “user manual” for your life.
How would this user manual help you?
The manual would guide you on how to navigate life perfectly aligned with who you are.
Detailing your talents, skills, and potential, it would give you a map for actualizing these.

How does it work?
The Human Design Personality Typing System provides two main sets of tools called Strategy and Authority. Your personalized BodyGraph is supposed to show you what your unique Strategy and Authority is.
Ultimately, you can use your personality type information to lead you in the life direction that's right for you based on your genetic design.
Your energy type tells you how you are here to exchange energy with the world around you. There are five different energy types, —Manifestors, Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, and Reflectors.
Let's take a closer look.
The Manifestor
Manifestors are the initiators of the Human Design types, and one of the rarest. They run off of surges of energy and are meant to go after their spontaneous urges to do or create something. They are prone to burn out needing more time to rest and recharge than other types.
Manifestors, like their namesake, are great at manifesting action. They are not here to follow someone else's path, or to be told what to do. They are here to lead, not follow. They are here to start things to bring people in along the way. Ultimately, They are here to show us what's possible when you move away from trying to please everyone and are unapologetic about who you are.
Gifts: They are here to be trailblazers and get things started—not necessarily to do all the doing, but to bring new ideas to life. They are naturally innovative and thrive when they do things on their terms, in their way.
Challenges: When Manifestors don't trust their power, they can run into trouble by "waiting for things to come to them, rather than trusting themselves to initiate." They also struggle with "getting lost in all the 'doing,' rather than trusting their gift of initiating." They are often lone wolves and struggle with isolation and loneliness.
The Generator
While Manifestors are the initiators, Generators are the responders. Generators are here to go after what makes them feel alive, discerning between what is a 'yes' or a 'no' in their bodies. They get more energy in their bodies when they are doing something that's in alignment for them.
Among their strengths, Generators "have consistent access to productivity and creativity energy and can work for long days if they love what they are doing." To find happiness, they are meant to go after what gives them energy and move away from what feels draining. They are here to show all the other types that life is meant to be light, and that ease is the way.
Gifts: Generators are pure life force and natural doers. They are steadfast and masterful creators and are gifted at bringing ideas to life. When they are lit up by what they are doing, their energy is magnetic and lifts us all up.
Challenges: Letting others take advantage of their powerful energy and not trusting their desires to guide the way can be a struggle for Generators. They're often not comfortable saying "no."
The Manifestor-Generator
If this sounds like a two-for-one personality type, that's because it is!
Manifestor-Generators are a hybrid of the Manifestor and Generator energy types. Their energy works in the most nonlinear way, and they are here to be multi-passionate with incredibly diverse interests.
On the upside, they have the most access to energy and can learn incredibly quickly, but on the downside, they can also get bored incredibly quickly. That's why it's important for Manifestor-Generators to not dive completely into their initial excitement for things, but to wait and see if their interest is sustained over time.
To sustain happiness, If something no longer makes you feel alive, you need to give yourself permission to change your approach. You are here to show all the other types that life isn't so linear, and you don't need to put yourself in a box in order to be successful.
Gifts: Manifestor-Generators are multi-passionate creators gifted at bringing ideas to life quickly and having their energy in many things at once. When you are lit up and satisfied by how you're using your energy, you lift us all up and initiate change.
Challenges: When Manifestor-Generators try to stick with something for too long, don't give themselves permission to pivot, or don't trust their desires to guide the way, it can throw them out of their natural flow. Other challenges can be not having strong enough boundaries and saying yes to things they're not actually lit up by, which drains their energy.
The Projector
Projectors are the visionaries of the Human Design types. This Human Design personality type is different than the rest.
They are 'non-energy beings.' While they don't have consistent access to the same productivity or initiator energy as Manifestors, Generators, or Manifesting Generators, they can be incredibly wise about these energies. They are here to show us that there's a better or more efficient way of doing or creating something.
Among their trademark strengths, Projectors have the ability to see things clearly in a way the other types can't and can be incredible guides. Their energy is really about trusting their unique gifts while allowing the world to show up.
Gifts: Projectors are natural guides, leaders, and teachers. They have an innate knowing around how others can best leverage their gifts and potential. They are here to show us a new way of success, one that is about working smarter, not harder.
Challenges: Projector personality types might have trouble reigning things in since they're prone to overworking and trying to be doers. They often try initiating, rather than waiting to be invited in and recognized for their gifts.
The Reflector
Reflectors are the rarest of the energy types, making up about 1% of the population.
As their name suggests, all of their energy centers are undefined, meaning they take in and mirror the energy that is around them. They are often described as the 'canaries in the coalmine' as they are products of their environment.
This receptivity gives them an incredible capacity for wisdom, with such a unique nature, reflectors are not here to be like everyone else or define who they are. They are here to show the rest of us that it's a myth that you need to decide who you are, and when you stay open you can be surprised and delighted by what life brings you.
Gifts: Reflectors are deeply wise and offer a powerful, objective assessment of any environment they're in. They are the ultimate chameleons and can tap into and experience many ways of being.
Challenges: Not honoring the ebbs and flows of their energy and overworking. When they don't honor their sensitivity to space and spend time in places or around people that don't feel good, they can run into issues, trying to lock into just one identity rather than embracing all of who they are.
Conclusion:
There is no doubt in my mind that this is an extraordinary and at times complex self-knowledge method.
As with all these mystical life applications, take just what you need and leave the rest, after all, you have free will at all times and nothing is out of the realm of change if this is what you want.
